Kontex

Established 1934 in Imabari, Japan, Kontex has been crafting high-quality towels using fine, garment quality thread that is loosely twisted for the highest level of softness. Such thread would break on modern weaving machines, thus Kontex towels are gently woven on old looms using traditional weaving techniques to maintain the integrity of the thread and achieve a level of softness that modern, high-speed machines cannot produce. Compared to modern machines which are used for speedy mass production, this method is more time consuming, but shows much better results in absorption capacity, lasting texture softness and drying behavior.
