Wicker Knot Napkin Ties

The association of knots with the symbolism of love, friendship and affection dates back to antiquity. These ornamental Love Knot Napkin Ties are our take on the design and they are handmade of Wicker, with a beautiful and delicate velvet ribbon to tie around the waist of the napkin. They have an elegant vintage vibe, perfect both casual and more dressy tables table, they work for Autumn, Winter & Spring.... or we love them in summer for al-fresco dining. We even love taking them on picnics wrapped around a favorite napkin or tea-towel. Napkin ties (as the name suggests) are not rings, they are an ornamental decoration to tie around the napkin. Its very easy to do and requires no effort yet the result is so decorative and lovely.

In France, Napkin ties date as far back as the early 1800's, velvet bows were used by the bourgeoisie to decorate elaborate tables.

Our Wicker Knot are sold with a velvet ribbon that is generous in length to be able to tie a pretty bow. It can easily be replaced with another ribbon to vary the look.
